Aquatic grass and Cory Catfish

I planted aquatic grass, I think dwarf aquatic hair grass. I am worried that when my Cory catfish are scavenging the bottom of the tank that the dwarf grass may be poking and rubbing them in the eyes and gills. Is this something I should be concerned about?I dont want my little buddies having a harder time by this grass stabbing them in the eyes and gills. Should I keep the grass or try to pull it all out? Also I am debating pulling it out and planting the more clover type aquarium plants. Any advice is much appreciated, thank you.

Hi @jeremyreeves12,

Welcome to TPT!

Don't worry about the Corydoras catfish, my cats dive into the Eleocharis sp (hairgrass) in my tanks all the time searching for food or just laid Melanotaenia praecox "Pagai" (rainbowfish) eggs.

Melanotaenia praecox "Pagai" in 75 gallon with C. sterbai, Eleocharis sp. below
CharleeFoxtrot, OVT and Asteroid like this.

Thank You for the information. What percent or area of your tank is planted with grass? I was thinking about trying to keep most of the grass in one section, will probably build another section with the more clover like grasses, and a part with just rocks.

Hi @jeremyreeves12

The area started off small but currently I would say that 25% of the substrate in my 75 gallon has a thick carpet of hairgrass.
