RODI Water / Water Changes

Hello!

I'm building a 20g with the following goals:
  • High Light
  • C02
  • ADA AS
  • Caridina Shrimp

I'm planning on using my RODI unit that I use for my SW tank and reminerlizing with SaltyShrimp's GH+. Is there any issue with using an RODI unit as opposed to just RO?

Also, in terms of water changes for a new tank like this, would you do multiple large water 2-3x per week for the first few weeks?

Thanks!

I would first run the course of ammonia with the ADA AS and WC with RODI.
Don't waste compounds re-mineralizing until the ammonia spikes are gone.

There is a WC schedule for new Aquasoil on the web.

When ammonia is in check mineralize for your shrimp.

Growing is not that difficult.

I dunno....I think I'd just use dechlorinated tap water until the ADA AS was 'cleaned'...then drain/refill with the RODI water. I don't think there's any negative issue with using the de-ionizer stage.

Tank On, Mike-
60g Marineland Community, Finnex Planted+ 24/7, Silica (pool filter) sand.
5g quarantine / hospital / grow out, 10g fry tank, 37g fry grow out tank, 110g stock tank (was outdoor, now basement)

I've read a bunch of discussions on their WC schedule, but no actual link to the schedule itself. Do you have one by chance?

Are there any negative consequences of switching from tap --> RODI all at once?
