What Can Be Salvaged?

I live in a funeral home and tend to think ahead....

I have a 6 gal planted Edge with Betta and Nerites. I believe the Betta will lose his battle with Lymphocystis soon.

How to decontaminate the snails and plants since I know his burst cysts have released virus which may be on them? I'd like to move them to another tank but don't want to spread the virus.

Ideas please?

The virus won't survive more than a week without a host. Plants don't get the virus. I don't think snails do either.

Lymphocystis usually attacks stressed fish. Have you tried anything to suppress it?

I describe his saga in another thread. It seems agreed I'm doing all that's possible, and there's no distinct and obvious reason for his condition unless he scraped himself and became infected. I just keep him warm, clean, and fed.

If you have an idea for efficacious treatment, I'd love to hear it, thanks!

From what I read there is no cure. But many sites suggest using antibiotics to get it into "remission". Just like with us humans sometimes there is no recourse and things just have to happen as they will. Luck of the draw if you will.
