Lightweight structural building material

What is a good, lightweight structural material for use in a tank that won't affect tank parameters?

I what to build up an area in a tank to support seiryu stone but don't want to use seiryu for the entire structure b/c of 1) weight, and 2) want to minimize the amount of seiryu stone to minimize it's effect on tank parameters.

Is styrofoam OK? Lava rock is inert and presumably lighter than seiryu, but still seems like that doesn't adequate address my desire to minimize weight.

Thanks in advance.

There was only one catch and that was Catch-22.

People tend to use Light diffuser cut into the shape they want, it's inert and easily cut. Also stackable. I think its called eggcrate or something like that?

...if I take the dishwasher out and use paper plates I can put a tank in the kitchen without losing counter space

Definitely will be using eggcrate for a base layer for the entire tank, but was worried about shifting if trying to build up a higher area. Guess I could zip tie them together to minimize that risk.
