Boiling Tubifex worms to prevent whirling desease

Hello all, I have a little plastic tub of Tubifex worm cubes that are freeze dried. I haven't fed them to my fish in months because shortly after feeding them last time, one of my rosy barbs started spinning around out of control for several days before dying.

Before I throw them out completely, I read that the parasitic spores can survive around 66 celsius.
So my thought is that I could submerge the cubes in boiling water to rehydrate them. this way my stock will be safe from any exposure.

Do you guys think thats a good idea?
or should I just throw it out, its basically full too.
