Dangers of lily pipes?

I just set up first community tank in many years and decided to use a lily pipe for the filter return. I have noticed that some of danios like to play in the return and will even swim up into the lily pipe's bulb until they get spun and spit out. I feel silly asking this, but is it a thing for small fish to swim up the pipe and get past the bulbous part and get trapped in the tubing? Or will they always be spit out? Is the turbulence from being spun like that going to give them neurological damage? Should I uses some other type of return?

I just setup my first as well, and I was also wondering because I have Aspidora Corydoras that love to swim up against a current to lay their eggs. I have found them in my aquaclears before, they swam up the ramp the water flows out of. Went inside and layed eggs.

I haven't had this issue or heard of it being even remotely common. I suppose it could happen, but their seems like about a 100 other things that I would be more concerned about. At least some of the fishes in the hobby come from streams and these fish often will enjoy the occaisional swim in the current , no need to worry about this behavior.

I had that problem with my fishes and snails. I changed to this jet pipe instead and fixed the issue : https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...ada1e879ef4166
