Flow reduction - Intake outtake

Just thought I'd share my idea of cutting down flow. I have a 29 gallon which I recently equipped with an Eheim 2215.

Tank is 30 inches long, and the flow was in no way overwhelming even before. It's just because I keep Honey Gouramis, and wanted to cut it down a tad bit.

So I installed this adapted(with a piece of hose) intake strainer I had laying around.Straight from the eheim curved pipe, I skipped the spraybar. It has a hole at the bottom too, so water is also shooting straight forward, but goes out the sides as well. It provides very good surface agitation, not too strong, not too weak. Hope this may help someone looking for solutions to reduce flow from strong filters.

I've just been using the valve on output to control flow. Have its about 50% shut, no issues so far! Have you tried that?
