Algae eater for 5 gallon hex?

What kind of agae eater can I have in a 5 gallon hex that houses a betta. I would like to get shrimp , but know that bettas and shrimp don't always mix (I would really like ice blues or blue tiger, but then I would probably have to find a new home for the betta). I have several ottos in my 25 gallon, but I don't know if they would be okay in the little hex. Would a mystery snail work? Do they eat algae of the glass, or in my case plastic? Any other ideas?

I have a couple of otto's in each of my 3 and 5 gallon betta tanks. They seem to do great.

I think nerite snails are the best for small tank algae control.

The best algae control in any size tank is good maintanence. Proper fert application and regular water changes.

Snails, and algae eating fish do help but will not prevent all algae problems.
