EI dosing Water changes

I was just wondering how strict these water changes were. Im trying to limit the large water changes being that my tank water is way different from my tap water ( I am using really hard water with high ph, but my tank has Fluval stratum which buffers the water. )

would I be able to do 10% a day Water changes, or Would I be able to do 2x25% water changes per week? Any other ideas to limit shock to my fish and plants would be very helpful.

Doing small changes frequently doesn't have the same effect as one large water change. A single 50% water change will remove many more dissolved solids than 2x25%, or even more so with 5x10% changes.

How is the pawn shop business going???

What you can do is what I do and that is make your water changes with half tap and half RO water. Since you most likely don't have an RO system you can buy RO water from one of those water stores for about $.25 per gal.

So a bit of testing on your mixed water to get the right mixture of tap/RO water to achieve a pH close to what you want in your aquarium.
