A little math?

Hey guys, pretty new to the forms, and planted tanks in general. So i was thinkin we could do a little somthin to help the new guys (me included) and maybe even somthin i think could help some of the more experianced guys. Heres the plan. While i was searchin the forms today i noticed that this hobby requires alot of some what basic math, and some of it. is confusing. So what if anyone on here posts a simple equation they now that could help. For light quality, chemetry, Co2, Harness, etc. Hope this helps alot of people. I know even a couple posts will help me. Thank you.

What kind of math do you find confusing? There may be a lot of math, but in general, most people ignore the math anyway.

Check out this thread.

There I worked through the math step-by-step for determining a medication dosage. The problem was, if you know how many milligrams per liter you need of the medication, and you also know how many milligrams are in a teaspoon; how many teaspoons do you need for a tank containing a certain number of gallons?

It's a good example of the math you will typically encounter in this hobby. I also included some general tips on how to work through a problem in a way that helps avoid confusion.

Please post any responses/questions here, not in that thread.

Another tip - Google does unit conversions. For example, try typing "20 gallons in liters" into the search box.
