The Not-Show-Quality tank thread (56k warning)

I was just reading an interesting thread on everyone's personal taste and was surprised by how many of us don't demand show quality design or success, myself included. So, I thought I'd start a thread to post pics of your tanks you like that definitely won't win any awards.

Here's mine. It's a 40 breeder with 2 wpg full spectrum of whatever I got cheapest, a smallish Eheim, and some pygmy cories and glowlight tetras and shrimp.

**I don't like how bronze the plants are in this tank. I also think it's a bit too....contrived, I guess...for my taste. I absolutely hate my mixed rock but I already had it so went cheap, which I do regret.

**I do like my crypts and how they've spread and how beautiful the textured leaves are. I'm rather fond of my rock stack but need to work on it some too.

**I'm neutral on the algae. I don't like this much and am battling it but do like a bit of algae as it looks pondy to me.

What's funny to me is this tank looks better in pics than in real life.

This is a 29-gallon from about 6 years ago. It was very low tech. Regular lights and no filtration. It did, however, get about 4 hours of afternoon sun each day. I loved how sparkly and weedy it was.

I've pretty much accepted that I'll never achieve an ADA-type award-winning scape, LOL! I just want a pretty, healthy tank for my fish.

Yeah, nobody will ever accuse me of being a designer, but my fishies are happy and healthy.

Erm, not that you can't have both.

Funny. I'm always disgusted by how the tank looks in my pictures. Of course, I have been taking my pics with a cell phone.

I don't imagine I'll ever have a show quality tank either. I'm just happy if it looks green (The plants, not the glass or water.)
