As title says, I'm planning on going back to planted tank (thinking dutch stylish), after some years with discus tank.
I have some questions on my current plans and the equipment I already have.
Tank: Juwel Rio 450 L. (the size and dimensions are what I look for - decent large tank, narrow and tall)
Substrate: Tropica soil.
Equipment I already have:
CO2: pressurized, with online reactor and PH-controller. (also have diffusers if needed).
Ferts: Dosing machine for liquid ferts -4 pumps.
JMB aqualight led:
2 x 12 watt -40 cm
3 x 36 watt - 120 cm
All 8000K, and all have a few red and /or blue leds.
Have controllor, able to control 2 units.
(The tank comes equipt with some LED tubes, but not sure I wish to use these.)
3 x larger canister filters 1200+ L/hour + various powerheads, flow pumps etc.
(planing on removing the stock internal filter system)
I'm planning on doing af setup like this: Layout 105 - Pedro Rosa - Tropica Aquarium Plants
My question is mostly centered on lights and flow.
Lights: I guess I have enough lights, but couldn't it be too much?, how much would you recommend the output set at in percentage?
Would a simple nozzle output or spraybar be best if it even matters? '(and if spraybar would be best opstion, would back or side placement be best?)
I'll probably have more questions along the way, and please forgive me using 'cm' and 'liters' instead of 'inches' and 'gallons'.
I hope a few of you experienced members can give me a few hints, and point me in the right direction.
