Kindergarden aquarium project

Hallo!
I live in Krk, a little town on a Krk island in Croatia.
Recently town built a new kindergarden and my daughter started to attend a group there.
I thought it would be great if the kindergarden had a nice aquarium that would make the kids happy and make the separation from the parents easier.
I went to see the mayor and asked for the sponsorship to buy an aquarium.
I offered to maintain the tank for free.

The town gave 1000$ so i bought a Juwel Rio 240.
This tank has 2x54w t5's wich is a lot for a non co2 system so i've covered a good part of the tubes with aluminum foil.
Now, three month later the tank is stabile, minimum algae and looking better and better.
And the best thing is the kids adore it!
Mission accomplished

Here's some pitcures..

It's beautiful! I’m sure the kids must really love it.

I too was worried, recalling our kindergarten aquarium.

We took a field trip to the pet store, where we each delighted in getting to pick out a single fish. Neon tetras, guppies, and other small fish were a popular choice; but one kid got a large angelfish.

I still remember the horror of watching the angelfish suck the eyes out of the other fish.

Your tank is MUCH nicer, and less likely to result in traumatic memories. Thanks for posting it!
