Are you absolutely sure you got Fissidens in the first place? Pics?

There are more than one species of fissadens. not all of them are ultra plumey but all should have some visible likness to the common one.

i dont use co2 with mine and it still looks like fissadens.

I agree. Low light, no CO2 tank and my Fissidens definitely has little branchy leaves, not tiny Java leaves.

Joy to the fishes!

Because that's Java Moss, not a Fissidens. Definitely.

Got Plants?-6 CO2 + 12 H2O → C6H12O6 + 6 O2 + 6 H2O

She recieved the moss from me, and here is a current pic of plant her trimming came from. I purchased it as fissidens...

Whoa!!

Hey I'm not trying to cause any arguments here, I just want my moss to look better. The tank was started from scratch so there is no chance of a contaminant. No Co2, dose with Metricide, PPS Pro and lower light. The moss DID look like the sellers picture when I got it and morphed into my photo over a couple months. I had higher light but had to cut back due to algae. And he is a she, just saying.....I have no complaints with seller for the record.

esteroali, what you have is not Fissidens. Trust me, I sell all sorts of Fissidens, I know that for sure it's not Fissidens. What you have is Java Moss.

Scotty, I'm not even quite sure yours is Fissidens also. Doesn't look like any Fissidens species as all, but it looks nice though. If you get a better picture of a single stem close up, I'll be able to tell you what it is.

She winks, Let's dance.

Here is the best I could do for a close up....

I have seen a similar moss that looks like your photo but that was Gorontalo Moss, But then looking again at your moss and photos of Gorontalo, it looks a bit different also.

It doesn't look like Java moss to me; the leaves are too long. But it's certainly not Fissidens fontanus, which is what I have. The stems are also so long; I've never seen mine grow more than like an inch.

Here is low light, no CO2 Fissidens. The longer ones are maybe Java moss, or flame moss.

Joy to the fishes!
