Proper way to turn ON CO2 tank

So we got the other thread telling us how to disconnect a CO2 tank. What's the best way to REconnect to avoid blowouts or messing up your solenoid/gauges/etc?

I think my AZOO is busted!

This is how I do it.

Connect the regulator to the CO2 cylinder.

Turn the regulator knob counterclockwise (i.e. so that the knob is loose. You want to be turning the knob the same direction that will normally decrease the delivery pressure. This is normally counterclockwise).

Adjust the needle/metering valve so that it is open (does not need to be fully open, but it should not be fully closed).

Plug in solenoid (if applicable).

Slowly open CO2 cylinder valve. The gas should register on the high pressure gauge.

Slowly turn the regulator knob clockwise (you want to increase the delivery pressure now. For most regulators, this is clockwise), until you reach the desired delivery pressure.

Finally, adjust the needle/metering valve to your desired flow rate.
