I have surplus of coleus overwintered in my house and thought of putting a few cuttings to root in the back of aquarium. Would not be for growing later in soil- just to do something pretty with extras. If they start to decline I would toss and start again with new pieces. I know they are toxic if, say, a cat eats it... I've used sweet potato cuttings this way before, put the cuttings in a jar of water for few days until cut end healed over, then put in aquarium. Wonder if anyone has done the same with coleus and if you saw any harm to your fish.

Nevermind, I found a thread on Monsterfishkeepers about this. Lots of folks have used coleus and nobody mentioned harm to their fish. I should have guessed it would be ok since sweet potato vine and pothos are fine.
