Question Could someone please identify this plant for me? (pic)

I have a couple of these in my tank. They are doing well, but I have no idea what they are. Four or five stems grow our of a single bulb. Each stem has a single light green leaf with a reddish-pink centre.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

30 gallon tall, pressurized CO2...killer lights
50 gallon long, killer filtration, low tech otherwise

Welcome

That is a very interesting & beautiful plant. I don't know what it is but I bet it is a non-aquatic plant.

I can't recall the real name but it's commonly sold as arrowhead plant at stores that can't tell the difference between aquatic and non-aquatic plants. And that one is a non-aquatic plant.

It might be Caladium bicolor, that is a plant that will last 8 weeks or so submerged. It has the same leaf shape but the red color should be much brighter and covering more of the leaf suface. If the red keeps fading and then the plant fades this may be the one. How long has it been in your tank and was the red more intense??

It has been in the tank for about 6 weeks. When I got it, the pink colour was barely visible: almost white. Since then, the red portion has gotten darker and the plant as a whole has almost doubled in size.

All I really know about it is what heard from the fish store. The guy said "I think it might be from Australia" but I got the impression he didn't really know.

Looks like a caladium to me. It's a south american bog plant, related to taro. It will eventually drown.
