Hi: The water Wisteria plant in my tank is
sending down long white roots. Some
of which have reached the gravel.
What can I expect from these roots if
they are roots. By the way this WW
plant was identified as a watersprite
plant. It is growing very well and
would like to grow more naturally.
Many years ago(don't ask) a very
well known guppy breeder told me
when you have healthy fish,healthy
plants and crystal clear water you are
on the right course.

I really don't have an answer for the roots going down however when I had WW in my tank it did that as well. I didn't like and my WW became engulfed in Hair algae when I had my outbreak and I eventually got rid of it.

About the crystal clear and healty plants statement that is pretty much true. If all of your parameters are in order your fish and plants will be healthy. However it is still good to test your watter because it might take your plants or fish a while to show any signs of something going bad. By the time they do show signs it might be too late.

Thanks Kyle for the rapid response.
So far my water is as it should be and I
am testing weekly.
Fishkeeping and the growing of plants is
certainly more sophisticated now. I am sure I will gain expert knowledge from this
forum.
Glad to be aboard.
