How big is the tank and how long is the bulb/fixture?

I used a 2 bulb 48" fixture on a 55 gallon. One of the bulbs was zoo meds max plant growth. The other bulb was also zoo meds but it was a different color/temp. I would recommend using two different bulbs. Mixing your light wavelengths with T5's really makes the tank look nice, the plants grow well, and thier colors 'pop'.

With 2 T5s over an 18 inch deep tank, you are probably looking at HIGH light. Probably want to invest in CO2 and some quality dry ferts as well.

I have used them, and agreed, wouldn't use them as only source of illumination. They are very pink. Combined with a 6500K is good, or even with a 10000K for a very crisp look.

Since they are pink, they will reduce the overall green hue of our planted tanks. If overdone, this will result in brownish tones. Light green plants turn to a sick pale or white color. They make dark green and red plants pop indeed.

With excellent reflectors, you'd get high light levels on an 18" tall tank. If raised up a bit from the water surface, levels will turn into "medium" soon. Better results with CO2 and ferts for sure.

I just installed one of the fixtures last night. The floragrow bulb is very pink, as Wasser said, mix the bulbs, I have the 6500k bulb too and the reds and dark greens really pop with that color combo
