new guy with dumb question.
Im new to the site, and new to plant tanks. have had tanks for years, but not with live plants. I installed a 5000 gallon pond last year and got sucked right into the lure of live aquatic plants. I have a 29 gallon tank with driftwood, parot feather, java fern, baby tears, pennywort, and other plants i dont know names of. hob filter, diy sugar and yeast co2, small submersed filter to distribute co2.water kept around 78 degrees. lighting consist of 3-20 watt t-12? "grow lights" from lowes in a homemade hood. lights are about 4" above water. fish are about a dozen, mostly tetras and feww rainbows and about 8 ghost shrimp and a bunch of snails. Being new i dont know much about water parameters for plant tanks. tank has been up for about 6 months. water looks good, no algae, fish and plants seem healthy. plants seem to grow at a slow but steady pace. good cause maintanance is low. i have also added leaf zone fert, but sparingly. went away for a few days and left only 1 light on a timer about 8 hours each day. here is the question. plants grew like crazy those 3 days. if they grew more with less light, is that trying to tell me something about water parameters? ie:to much or not enough co2, nutrients, light, etc. I have posted picture of tank.thanks in advance for any input
