API CO2 Booster

Well I figured we could discuss this new product for our planted tanks. It seems finally when it comes to commercial fish brands, Seachem has a rival for Excel now. API came out with CO2 Booster now which is another glutaraldehyde based product. I wonder if it will be priced cheaper than excel for competition. The main reason I shared this was because API was giving away samples to fans of theirs on facebook and I received a bottle of it to try. I already have excel on hand but another bottle of a liquid carbon supplement couldn't hurt! I have a tank that may have a tad too much light because it gets a tiny bit of BBA every couple weeks. I might as well put this product to use.

It is a 1.6% solution and they MARs isn't hiding the fact that it is glutaraldehyde and water.

I noticed that too, they seemed very open as to what is in it.

That is refreshing. Honestly, I think Seachem acting as if it is not just glut and water is plain silly. Beings tests have shown it IS.

They attempted to patent this solution, and failed miserably... so now they act as if they are not using glut. Odd how the MSDS is identical to other glut solutions, such as Cidex.

Azoo has also come out with a "carbon" solution as well. I presume it is glut, but have not researched it at all. I hope it is, and isn't a citric acid solution like Brightwell. Citric Acid would have to be available constantly at ridiculously high levels to be useful.
