Any Point in Powerwashing Submerged Manzanita?

I have a couple of big manzanita branches that have been soaking in the tank for a few days now. Still have the fuzzy mold on it, can sink on their own.

I have the opportunity to power wash some things tomorrow before the weather turns for the worse for a while.

Would there be any point to washing the manzanita? Maybe even drying it out before putting back in. I'm sure the mold will grow back anyway. But would there be any benefit whatsoever? Or just a waste of time?
