Hello. I will be setting up a new tank shortly. It will be a heavily planted low tech tank. I plan on having eco-complete and black sand as the soil. I really hate having to clean up the soil, so it would be great if these species would keep the soil very clean. I did some research today and I actually got very interested in the 90 gallon, which is just a few inches taller than the 75. I think I will be going with the 90 as it will fit the same stand and I really like its height. For the fish, I was thinking about having 10 panda cories, 3 hillstream loaches, and 20 Amano shrimp. Would this be enough to keep the tank clean? For the middle-bottom of the tank, I want some larger fish that are very colorful and attractive. Any suggestions. For the middle top, I am thinking about going with 3 honey gouramis and 30 ember tetras. I really want the school to be active and tight. Would ember tetras be good? Any other suggestions?
What is a beautiful none schooling fish that is able to live with shrimp, ember tetras, cories and hillstream loaches? (I looked into rams and some people said they are too aggressive)
