Fish Suggestions?

I recently found a 5-gallon glass barrel in my garage that would look great as an aquarium. There is a 2 inch hole at the top, so i can put a substrate if needed. Any fish suggestions?

Setting up and maintaining a tank through only the two inch hole? Not a project I would want to start. Thought of cleaning it?

Part of my thinking on this goes back to an 18 gallon orb that I tried at one point as it had about 4-6 inches open at the top. One major was the lack of gas exchange which I missed on first thought so that it kills four small fish. Second was the really hard part of cleaning a rounded curve with limited space. My arm just will not bend the right way to rub down the sides and making some tool to hold a sponge was a real bummer! Turned out the best move was to go ahead and junk it as it was a project which my wife had started as a terrarium and found not what she wanted.
Anybody wanting to look at some of the big misadventures I've tried? I tend to get bored and do sometimes get carried away with DIY projects! This is one of many which should not have been started!!!

Sorry about the missing pictures. All part of the weirdness with Photoshop changes.
