They are very very tiny, little round beetle like insects. I know what most pests are that I find but I've never come across these before. Haven't seen too much online either so hopefully someone will be able to id them for me and tell me if they would be dangerous to shrimp. The picture isn't great but you might be able to get the idea, they are the small white dots on the rocks. I know they are bugs because they move.

doesn't look like the pics of scuds I can find online. These ones are rounder and even smaller.

I don't think it's these either. Again the bugs in the video seem more oblong where as the bugs in my tank are literally tiny white dots. Like tiny tiny ping pong balls

Could you film them? Might be easier to identify if we can see how they move. Either way I doubt they're insects; more likely crustaceans. Daphnia or copepods, maybe. Either way it's unlikely to be anything you need to worry about.

Some sort of copepod. Almost certainly harmless. If you want to ID for sake of curiosity, you might have to pipette some up and examine under magnifying glass.

yea as far as a specific id goes, i'm not willing to go to that trouble i just mostly wanted to know they wont be harmful to the shrimp i add eventually. so thats good news.
