Fluval spec planted tank carpet?

Hey everyone, Iím setting up my first fully planted tank and I need some help with finding good carpet plants for it. Itís the newer fluval spec V, so it has the more powerful light but Iím not sure if itís powerful enough for carpeting plants. I wonít be using a co2 system, but I am using flourite black sand as the substrate and will be dosing api leafzone weekly, and excel every day to every other day. I was thinking something with smaller leaves, but anything that would form a nice carpet would be good. Also preferably fast growing, but I can settle on something slower-growing if thatís not possible. They sell little tissue culture plant cups at my LPS so Iíll probably get one of those, I donít remember what kinds they have. I was thinking maybe Monte Carlo, DHG, S. Repens or baby tears, would any of those work?

dwarf baby tears will be best.

your fluval set up might be weak, but still possible. we are talking about months to reach your vision. if you get co2 you will greatly increase their growing abilities. fluval mini co2 set up for $25 on amazon can get that job done.

I was able to get Monte Carlo to start carpeting with a simple DIY CO2 system before i pulled it.

you can get cartridges on amazon for about $2-$3 each. Each cart will last about 1 month with co2 on 24/7. keep it about 1 bubble per 3 second and you shall be good. make sure you buy the threaded co2 carts.
