I keep mbuna cichlids and have never been able to keep anything with them that is not their size and that cannot move quickly. I have read and found personaly that if you have rockwork or a log that affords caves, much of the aggression stops. I have had Rams and although not as bad as the murdering bastages that mbunas are, they can still get aggressive and the caves help.

It's possible as long as there's plenty of space for them to hold their own territories (dramatically increases once they start to breed). I'm currently housing 2 pairs of Pelvicachromis taeniatus "Nange" w/a pair of A. viejita Rio-Meta.

gw11ucb, another poster on this forum, houses two pairs of German rams along w/3 P. pulcher (2 males and a female).

Semi-aggressive when not in pairs. Would most likely leave the other fish alone, unless provoked. What are you planning to house the Apisto with other than the ram?

Shouldn't be a problem.

Mind sharing other info about the tank (other fish in there, water parameters, size of tank, etc.)?
