Amano Stones

Where can I buy the same stones and/or similar stones that Amano uses in his aquascapes? Is there a certain website that sells that kind of stuff?

Thanks, Dave

Alternatively, keep checking the Swap and Shop forums; there are often a few users that will be selling Seiryuu seki. I have occasionally seen Ohkoseki for sale also.

or alot of people find their own rocks to put into the aquarium, either way works as long as it is safe for the fish/shrimps

There are only 4 true ADA stones on this page. Some of the stones Amano uses in his scapes are not available to anyone.

The rest of the stones on the Aqua Forest Aquarium (ADAna USA) website are imported by Archaea International (George and Steve Lo).

I haven't seen them personally, but Jeff Senske sells the ADA stones as well as some other nices ones. Maybe he can elaborate.

Wow! About $4 to $8 a pound....And I thought live rock for my reef was expensive.

But, I do have to admit that they are nice rocks, especially when compared with what you can find at most of your LFS.

We currently do carry ADA stones - albeit you have to call or email me (832)459-5172 / [email protected] to order them so we can hand select some stones for you and forward the pictures before you choose to buy.

At the moment we have some manten, ryuoh for nanos and a selection of ADG only Black Coast Stone, which you can see an example of here:
https://www.plantedtank.net/forums/pl...ack-coast.html

Once the Black Coast Stone's sell out, they will not be available again anywhere else.

I have a access to piles of this Black river stone, which looks nearly identical.
I had some really mountainous looking more jagged looking pieces too, but my wife swiped them for her rock garden.

Interesting stone onefang, but quite different from the ADG stock having seen the pallet. These have no evident calcite veins and a general lack of texture aside from the unique top piece. It also appears to be a lighter hue (at the same time I realize its not wet). Interesting stuff, but definitely no Black Coastal

These were just rocks that we got to outline our garden with
I can say that these are probably the smoothest, roundest ones we could find, as thats what we wanted for our garden.. There are a lot more stones out there with more texture.

These are a couple that I got from the same stock:

I can't say whether ADG stones are "better" or not. Just trying to offer up a much cheaper alternative. From what I've seen, they look like your standard weathered river stones.

By the way, they are nearly black when wet:

Bottom line is, you can pay a minimum 44.90 for 10lbs of stone, or you can pay for a large flat rate box, and I'll pack it full with hand picked, in the shape you want stone

We don't have a minimum purchase requirement. That's Aqua Forest. AFA and ADG are two totally seperate entities.

My only point is that when it does sell out, there won't be another shipment of it.
