Cleaning rocks with muriatic acid

So i just cleaned some rocks with this acid and it worked. Rocks look completey different, in a good way :P

My question is, is rinsing them with water good enough? Im planning on using them right now but not too sure if its safe yet..

Rinse them and let them sit and dry out. The HCL will evaporate.

Rinsing them alone and not letting them dry out might affect your pH, but it wouldn't crash it or anything, If that doesn't bother you go ahead and rinse very well and use them.

Just a thought: Muriatic acid is not a cleaner. It does combine with some minerals that may be on the surface of the rock, making those minerals disappear. And, that might loosen some of the biofilm on the rock so it brushes off. But, if this works, the rock must be reacting to the acid, meaning it will slowly react to the acidity of the tank water, raising the hardness of the tank water. If that is not a problem for you then the acid wash is a good method for you. If it is a problem, that's a different story.

Thanks to both of you:P

I ended up using the rocks for another project in the future. Either way i use RO water so that wont be much of a problem.
