Rock too heavy?

I have a really awsome piece of stone that I want to put in my tank, however I have a slight concern with the weight. The rock is apx 8 * 8 * 20 in size and one of the narrow ends is flat, so it stands up like a pillar. However the issue is this piece of stone weighs 55 lbs! I am going to put a piece of eggcrate under it to prevent any pressure points but is this too heavy? The bottom of my tank is very thick and I have had hundreds of pounds of LR in there when it was saltwater.

It should be fine with the eggcrate, just make sure it doesn't fall over! That piece will actually weigh roughly 2/3 of that 55lbs. once submerged if that make ya feel any better...

I once had 100+ lbs of river rock in a 30 gallon eggcrate. so, I'm sure you will be fine.

i dont know how they do it, whether its with egg crate or whatnot, but reefers load their tanks up with live rock. much more than what that stone weighs i bet
