Tank Temp

I have a 24 gallon waterfall tank: https://www.plantedtank.net/forums/ta...fall-wall.html

Currently have it heavily planted with CRS only - no fish yet. My tank temp has been hovering from 72 to 76. I'm assuming the 72 is a bit too low? I have a heater on the way. Not sure if this will harm the plants and shrimps? I'm thinking I should be in the 78 range ideally?

that depends on the species. crs like to breed in lower temp water.

72-74 for my CRS. They definately do better at lower temps. 78+ and youll start having mysterious deaths/shorter lifespans.

Tank Temp

Depends. Crs will be fine. For some fish, 72 is warm.

Check the requirements of the fish you want to add.

well I think I mis-posted. My shrimpies are red cherries, not CRS. So what is an ok temp range for RCS?

I personally keep my tank at 75F - 77F.

Oh and here's another good thread:
