new tank syndrome

New tank.
90% of plants are DHG plugs. Lots of melt as plants adjust to new params. Plants doing great, but melt is causing so much excess nutrients I have to do 25% WC every day to keep nitrate and phosphate stable.

I was wondering if I should get some Amano shrimp to help eat the decaying matter. This may reduce a bit of the nutrient release into the water, and help clean up the look of things?

Perhaps 4 of them? (20 gallon long)

(because the decaying bits are individual hair grass strands, there is no practical means of removing them)

I would remove any decaying matter manually, and not add any livestock until the tank is stable.

Keep in mind that if you add the shrimp and they die, you have now made the problem even worse.
