Daphnia question.

My water has turned green, I read that one solutin would be placing daphnia in a breeder net, they eat the algae. I would like to know if anyone knows where and how to get them, or culture them?

I love daphnia myself and they make great fish food. But it's easier to do a large water change and leave the lights off for a few days.

I got my daphnia online. You can check aquabid, ebay etc...

Daphnia are pretty easy to care for. They love green water, they are filter feeders more or less. Once hte green water is gone they either need to be fed cultured green water or yeast works well also. If you have fish in your tank they will eat them, my fish love them. They are a high in Chitin which is a natural laxative for fish. Great food if your fish eat alot of high protein diets that they are design to consume. I feed them about 3 times a week along wiht all the other live food I have listed in my thread.
