Foam out space for paludarium?

Hi all, I'm looking to convert a 30g long into a paludarium and wanted to see if using great stuff to fill up a big chunk of one side of the tank is feasible? I intend to just have a couple inches of eco complete on top of the gs and grow mosses. Bromeliads on the walls and a couple of other smaller plants. So won't need 7" of substrate.

Could using overturned tupperware bins work?

I was going to just fill the tank up to the desired level on the water side and then not have to worry about stagnant water on the land side.

Thoughts? Thanks
