solenoid heating up?

i just bought a used reg, and the solenoid that was on it heats up, a lot, when it is on. i never noticed this with my other setup. is this normal?

yes most solenoids do get prety hot.

Mine gets hot too. It's normal.

It shouldn't get hot enough to melt or burn anything. But it normally gets hot enough that you wouldn't want to hold it.

Yeah the one on my rex setup gets hot. Oddly my red sea solenoid barely gets warm.

If it is a Clippard solenoid, most people report that it does get quite warm when it is in operation.
