Arrow Benefits?

Is it beneficial to use aquarium salt in fresh water tank? Is it good for tropical fish and plants?

I heard it's good to use in a hospital tank or something, but generally, no, it isn't good to use in your regular tank.

I believe the question has already been answered, but to beat a dead horse: there is no need for aquarium salt in a planted aquarium

Its awesome to use in a goldfish tank with neon gravel and plastic plants as it helps prevent alot of diseases. OTOH, it will kill 99% of the ornamental plants and fish you see around this forum.

Salt is best used for fish, not plants, it tends to melt them. That being said there are many species of tropical fish that will benefit from salt in a fish tank, live bearing fish, african cichlids, goldfish, and rainbows all do very well with it.
