20g long planted stocking

6 Cardinal Tetras
6 Rummynose Tetras
4 Endlers Livebearers (all male)
5 Cherry Shrimp

I don't want overstocked.

Is this too much?

That's not too much for a 20 gallon planted tank; it's actually just a fraction of what you could keep. Shrimp in particular don't contribute a lot to bioload and you could have probably like 100, plus those fish, without being overstocked. I'd be worried about your tetras eating your shrimp, though, unless you have a lot of hiding spots for them. Try this site for stocking suggestions: AqAdvisor - Intelligent Freshwater Tropical Fish Aquarium Stocking Calculator and Aquarium Tank/Filter Advisor It's not perfect by any means but it does give you a good idea of what you can safely keep. If anything, it's usually a little on the safer side.

I'd consider choosing either the cardinals or the rummynoses and doubling the school. I have 11 neons in a 20-long with a few platys and it's very attractive. You'll get more interesting behavior out of either fish at these numbers, too.
geisterwald and geisterwald like this.

2x20-longs, one heavily planted. Platy rancher. They. Won't. Stop. Breeding.
