Seachem Biomedia Matrix?

Does anyone use it? On paper it looks much better than the Eheim substrate pro that I'm using...

Seachem certainly has an impressive paper showing that Matrix has more places for bacteria to attach. I'm not certain how truly important this is, as a practical matter. I certainly wouldn't switch, given that you already have a good biomedia.

it isn't worth switching, but if you are going to buy biomedia, matrix is the stuff to get. Regardless of what you use, you'll have plenty of surface area (10 square miles or whatever vs 5 isn't important), and matrix is cheapest.

If there isn't any detectable ammonia then adding more biomedia is pointless.
