10 gallon lighting

was wondering what 2 15 watt screw-in cfl's would be considered over a 10 gallon? is it high light, low light or somewhere inbetween? thanks

its high. that is 3 watts per gallon. 2 is moderate and i use 2 in my 10 gallon planted

I would say medium-high. It will also depend on the orientation of the bulbs, and also their height above the tank.

In addition, the WPG guideline does not really work for tanks 10g or smaller.

Do to their design, CFL spirals get significant restrike. That said, you should still be in the mid-high stage.

+1 on the WPG not working. I have 4 WPG on my ten gallon, and everything grows great, but I think it's barely in the "high" category.

Two 15 watt power saver CFL bulbs over a 10 gallon tank? Extremely low light, if those bulbs are in a ceiling light fixture with a nice globe over them. Maybe we need to offer geometry lessons here?

everyone else... so you know what orientation they are in, its the incadesent hood that comes with a ten gallon package and thanks

So horizontally.

I would still say you have medium-high light, given the standard 10 gallon incandescent hood and its height above the aquarium.
