Duck weed disappeared

Help. For some reason all of my duckweed died or disappeared after three days of getting it. Does anybody know why this happened?

Thanks

Is it being pushed under water by a filter or filters? Floating plants don't like this.

So do you have a hang on back filter? If so, it is still possible to have floating plants. I have some Frogbit with an HOB filter and it seems to do well. I have the water level in the tank high enough that the water basically just flows out onto the surface rather than falling to any great degree. The Frogbit does get pushed around, but not dunked under. When it floats up the filter it gets pushed away in the current and basically ends up doing a circle around surface of the water.

I've also seen other people put some sort of barrier on the surface of the water to keep floating plants way from the HOB. Here is an example: Reddit

Unless you have some special reason for having the duckweed, count your blessings. I always have found it to be a nuisance plant I want to get rid of.

Was the same with mine. Water flow too strong and barbs ate out the centres. Most disappointed

I have some other sorts of floating plants, but I definitely second the airline tubing barrier. Super simple and inexpensive, low-profile, and works well.

Yeah for some reason my duckweed just dies, even after moving it to another tank without the hob filter.

Bump: Sorry to here your duckweed died off too Delapool. It's funny how some people want to get rid of it while others try to purposely keep it.
