swimming pool for a planted tank:)

wouldn't it be awesome to have a whole swimming pool as a planted tank.don't you wish sometimes when you look in your tank that you could just hop in and swim around?has this been tried before?

You could probaly swim around in one of Takashi Amano tanks. The one that he keeps all his altum angels in. That Would be cool though.

Well the issue with the swimming pool is there is no good way to limit your light. I've seen a few swimming pools that are really good at growing algae, so I'm sure they could grow some plants as well.

I suppose you could keep the built in filter, but it would cost a fortune in substrate and I wouldn't want to think about what it would take to try and keep a decent amount of CO2 in there (which would be needed with all that light), and how much fertilizers you would be going through. I guess you would have to run it more like a normal pond then a planted tank.

It has a couple of commercial links. I didn't read into them but the pics look so much better than the traditional tile-lined, chlorine-fumed pool.
