powerhead and diffuser, will this work?
I have been trying different ways of diffusing co2 and getting the most out of it. I've been running a DIY co2 reactor for awhile now, but have not seen the results I've been looking for, so I'm trying something different.
I added a powerhead this morning (106gph) and added the co2 to a ceramic diffuser, and placed that diffuser underneath the intake of the powerhead. The powerhead then blows the co2 all over the tank, which as it's been running for about 20 minutes, seems like there are very little dead spots now, and everywhere you look you can see small little bubbles, so I'm assuming this will work out.
I also have my fluval outake on the other side of the tank, blowing the opposite direction in the back (55 gallons) at 106gph, but is reduced due to the length of travel and going through the reactor, so I'd say it's about 60-80gph.
My fish seem to be a little discombobulated over the powerhead. It went from a steady calm pool to a river pretty quick, am I to notice any ill effects? Does anyone use this technique?
