Is this driftwood fungus...

or something else? I have searched the site but don't find anything that looks quite like it. It's really gross and seems to pretty much be growing out of the cracks/stump of the wood. I soaked this wood for about two weeks before putting it in the tank but did not boil it because it's too big. Any ideas/suggestions?

it'll go away. I had a very large group of manzanita wood in my 75 and every single piece had this on certain parts. Eventually it just goes away.

My mopani root has this stuff on it. It's disgusting, but like PP said, give it a couple weeks and it will die off.
