Is this too crowded?

For my 5.5G tank I'm thinking:
1 betta splendens
3 otos
# shrimp. Either cherry red or yellow

is this too much?

I would think the oto's would not be able to find enough to eat. I have three in an 80 gallon and they keep it spotless. Although I suppose it depends how much algae you plan on growing

As long as you feed the oto's regularly it will be fine.

IMO 1 is the max for a 5g for algae purposes only. Unless your tank is a mess.

It should be fine. Just make sure you feed the Oto's regularly and watch that the betta doesn't turn the shrimp into a snack!

Watch the shrimp, most bettas will eat the smaller ones (RCS, CRS, etc). Amanos would probably be large enough to be OK, but still depends on each individual betta in question.
