What are these little bugs?

So a little while back I noticed that there are these tiny "bugs" in my 5.5. They pretty much look like tiny white specks that crawl around on my wood (that's where I can really see them since their color stands out from the dark wood).
I just want to know what they are, is they are harmful to my plants/wood, and how to get rid of them if they are.

Too little info to identify. Almost all of these bugs are harmless. Their population levels will depend on how clean the tank is.

Sound like copepods, and they're great fish snacks. I see them every now and again in my 46gal, and I think they're the reason my Cardinals go hunting along the substrate during the day.

They do look like copepods. I wish my neons would eat more of them. Oh well, as long as their harmless.
