bloodworms

Does anyone know how I could keep bloodworms alive for a longer time? Even if I buy half portion and keep it in the refrigerator it goes bad in about a week. I only feed bloodworms to a dwarf puffer kept in the tank for snail control (that's about 4-5 worms in a week). Could I build a small habitat where the worms could live a little longer? How big should it be, what substrate, what can I feed them?
Thank you,
Brad

Why not just buy frozen ones?

Vinlo, I have tried to feed him frozen food and he wouldn't take it. I need something that "works" fast, before the other fish (neons and SAEs) come around and take over. Live bloodworms work great and I was trying to stick with them. (If is not broken, why fix it?)
Thank you, anyway.

I dunno about bloodworms but with my blackworms I just rinse them thoroughly everyday, feed them shrimp pellets every other day, and keep them in the refrigerator. That's it and they live till I feed them. Usually I buy about a pound and it lasts me 3 weeks.
