lucky bamboo...

has anybody ever added this to their aquarium??? i know that its not aquatic, that it would have to grow out of the tank, but some websites say its fine for aquariums and some say not, i know they sell them emersed in betta jars now... i think that it would be a cool addition to a tank, anybody have any experience with these plants?

I've added one to my little 2.5 gallon hex tank. Doesn't sem to be a problem, and the little mollies love it. (So did my boss. That's a big 'plus'.)

At the local Petsmart they sell clip-on rings that hold lucky bamboo in the back of the tank.

So I'm sure many people do it. But I'm unsure how well/long the plant will last.

I did this for my gf awhile back. Used one of those large candle holders (the ones which you can float candles on top of, which came with its own stand). Two bags of rocks from Eddie Bauer and bamboo from a floral shop. Top it off with a blue B. splendens. Came out really nice, and the bamboo grew like a weed with the betta in it (slower growth without and the leaves were less green).
