River Tanks

I'm wondering if anyone has been running a river tank setup (typically a long narrow tank, power heads, sponge filter returns, simulating a current) and if so what plants do you find work well?

One concern after learning a lot about CO2 injection system would be loss of CO2 due to the increased agitation of the surface water.

I have a pretty decent current following through a narrow portion of my tank. Lots of surface agitation, no CO2 injection, fairly high lighting, yadda yadda... The current doesn't seem to phase most of the plants I have once they establish themselves.

Dwarf hairgrass, glosso, and java fern do well in the high current area, though the current is directed at the surface and not the substrate XMass moss doesn't like the current too much (grows much better in the lower-current areas in the tank). Other than that, I'd recommend using a fairly deep substrate so you can anchor your plants really well. Try stuff out. If anything is a pain (like some stem plants), just forget about it and try something else.

Or...maybe someone else can help you.
