I finally was able to gain the upper hand in teh battle against the stuff in my 30 Gallon tank. It was growing like crazy in this tank for a few reasons.
1. - Too little light
2. - Nitrates were too high
3. - No CO2 injection
I have started to win the war by massive, frequent water changes and adding true Siamese Algae Eaters. The algae isnt dying off, but it isnt spreading either. This is allowing the SAE's to eat it without it growing back.
My Lighting is perfect for the levels of suspended CO2 in the tank, however with the excessive nutrients in the tank the algae had a hayday.
