As a child, I once filled one of my dad's tanks with snail killer, thinking, I guess that I was feeding them, as there was a picture of a snail on the box.

Well, at least my algae is pearling...

The nastiest things I've put in my tank are my hands. Doubt it gets worse than that...unless its a bottle of snail killer.

when I was a very young, I put so many nasties into the family tanks.
Everything from dirt, sand, marbles, flour,,
Believe it or not, I used to feed the goldfish with rice, cracker crumbles and rice noodle (uncooked).

I haven't put anything in my tanks, but Once when I was about 5 I thought that My goldfish wanted to play legos. I built a Car for them and let them drive around for a like 2 min. then put them back in the bowl. I blamed my mom for there Death too.

Depends on if you mean nasty things that served no purpose in the tank. When I was in high school and kept an Oscar I used to throw anything that crawled (and some that didn't) into its tank...cockroaches, black widow spiders, house geckos, moths, flys.... It (the Oscar) was a definite eating machine. .

House geckos?! I've never seen one, no such animal in St. Louis! I guess they are small enough to feed to an oscar, wow, that certainly got my attention! Found out recently my husband has been feeding my figure eight puffer crickets, is that safe? I asked him not to since I wasn't sure.
